We are seeking motivated Endoscopy Technician's to join our team in Boise & Nampa. We have openings in both locations! This is a full time, permanent position. ($250 paid after 3 months of employment and the additional $250 paid after 6 months).
Must possess: Good communication and verbal skills, basic computer skill, utilizes medical assisting processes, processes physician orders, and communicates clearly with patients, families, staff and physicians. Prior GI experience is a plus, but not required.
Duties: Responsible for care and maintenance of equipment and supplies. In the endoscopy unit this may include the use of endoscopy equipment and accessories according to the manufacturing recommendations, washer/sterilizers, air and oxygen compressors, ultrasonic cleaner and waste management systems.
- Demonstrates knowledge of equipment used during procedural exams and patient care; problem-solves and manages equipment functioning issues; demonstrates ability to resolve equipment issues to minimize disruption of patient care and flow.
- Demonstrates ability to clean and maintain endoscopy equipment and accessories according to manufacturers’ recommendations; follows established protocols for use of all equipment, accessories, washer/sterilizers, air and oxygen compressors, ultrasonic cleaner, waste management systems
- Maintains all logs related to scope care and cleaning, equipment care and maintenance, compressors, emergency power, etc., in accordance with established protocols
- Monitors supplies (patient care, procedural, linen and nourishment), orders as directed by par levels under supervision of unit manager; saves packing slips for billing verification; communicates back orders or availability issues to unit manager and/or nursing director
- Demonstrates knowledge of and performs job duties in compliance with OSHA, safety, exposure control, and infection control policies
- Maintains work area and equipment in a clean and safe and efficient manner.
- Assures procedure and admit/recovery rooms are stocked and prepared for patient arrival
Essential functions of the job:
- Daily work may involve stooping, reaching, standing, walking, pushing (including patient beds), pulling, lifting, turning patients, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motion, and standing for long periods of time.
- Subject to inside environmental conditions
- May be exposed to products containing latex
Qualifications and Skills
- High School Graduate or Equivalent
- M.A. Certificate Preferred, but not required! We can offer this exam to you at no cost!
- BLS and CPR Certification preferred, but not required! We offer in-house courses for these certifications.
