Dr. Dan McEntire joined the Digestive Health Clinic in 2024. He is originally from West Point, UT. He received his undergraduate degree at Weber State University in Ogden, UT in Medical Laboratory Sciences. He completed medical school at Creighton University in Omaha, NE, graduating Magna Cum Laude. This was followed by a three-year residency in Internal Medicine and three-year fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, UT, where he also served as a chief fellow. He obtained additional specialized fellowship training in advanced therapeutic/interventional endoscopy at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. He is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
With a primary focus on the diagnosis and management of premalignant and malignant gastrointestinal and pancreaticobiliary disorders, Dr. McEntire possesses particular expertise in complex endoscopic procedures. These include endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), diagnostic and interventional endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), and endoscopic resection and ablation procedures. Dr. McEntire is dedicated to providing comprehensive, evidence-based care for patients with digestive health issues, employing the latest techniques and technologies to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Outside of medicine, Dr. McEntire enjoys traveling, fishing, and spending time with his wife and 4 children. He has a special goal to help grow adaptive youth programs in the Boise region. He hopes to provide ample opportunities for his son and other children with physical disabilities to keep active, make friends, and grow without limitations.
